OPTIMIST UPDATE - May 24, 2020

Hello Optimists,
The meeting Wednesday night we decided the following:
• No large Donations to be made at this time as no one knows how long this will last.
• One $250 sponsorship donation was made to Lydia Puetz for a virtual 100 km walk. The money will all be going to wellspring and childhood cancer.

Steak Stag:
NO final decision has been made on holding the event. We will have another meeting early June to make a final decision.  While we can't donate money if we dont raise money, we also don't want to be responsible for holding the large event that spreads another wave of covid19.

We are going ahead with the order for the steaks. challenges in the packing industry left norpac wanting to start freezing some steaks for us to ensure availability.

IF we cannot hold the event- which the general consensus in the zoom meeting was that it will probably not realistic, then we will sell the steaks as a way to try and raise some money for the club as we have them locked in at a good price.

Any that get frozen soon will come in smaller packs to make selling easier in small quantities,  and we will start selling soon after we decide not to hold the event so that we have the whole summer BBQ season to sell for.
